SOFTWARE FOR ASSURED INFORMATION DESTRUCTION
SOFTWARE FOR ASSURED INFORMATION DESTRUCTION
Software for assured information destruction allows the assured destruction of confidential information (except for the information constituting state secrets) stored on the hard disk drives (HDD), flash drives and other devices determined by the operating system (OS) Windows as "HARDDISK".
Destruction of information is performed programmatically using multiple data recordings.
When rewriting data the following algorithm is used:
For HDD:
- Cycle 1 - recording zeros;
- Cycle 2 - recording units;
- Cycle 3-6 - recording alternate ones and zeros;
- Cycle 7 - recording pseudorandom sequence;
For drive with NAND-memory:
- Cycle 1 - recording zeros;
- Cycle 2 - recording units;
- Cycle 3 - recording pseudorandom sequence.
Valid range of data destruction is limited by the logic linear address (Logical block address, LBA). Information on the demaged or inaccessible storage media due to hardware protection is not destroyed.
Destruction of information programmatically allows re-using the media.
Software for assured information destruction is installed on a personal electronic computer from the CD and begins to function after strating the program pogui.exe.
